Washington University in St. Louis is pleased to support the 2019 Green the Church Summit by providing no-cost registration for a limited number of St. Louis community members, as well as university students, faculty, and staff.
Green The Church (GTC) is a national initiative designed to tap into the power and purpose of the African American church community, and to explore and expand the role of churches as centers for environmental and economic resilience. GTC empowers people of all faiths to be leaders in caring for the Earth, providing resources to educate, connect, and advocate for healthier communities.
GTC is hosting its 6th annual Summit in St. Louis on October 4th and 5th at the New Northside Missionary Baptist Church. The Summit will feature a keynote by Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali, a major national environmental justice leader and strategist. The 2019 Summit theme is “Wade in the Water — Environmental Justice: The Black Church Response to Climate Change.” Find more information on the 2019 Green the Church Summit here.
