Katie Hanson

Katie is a junior from Maryland majoring in Anthropology on the Global Health & Environment track and minoring in Marketing. Prior to college, she took a gap year, where she worked in the Marketing & Communications department for a collection of health clinics for uninsured residents in Washington, D.C. There, she realized her commitment to public health and sustainability, as well as her strong interest in communications campaigns as a tool to improve environmental and health outcomes. Katie has continued this work at public relations agencies over the past few summers. As a member of GlobeMed, she enjoys having discussions with other students interested in public health. Outside of her coursework, Katie enjoys cooking, rollerblading, sewing, and reading. She’s looking forward to working with everyone at the Office of Sustainability and collaborating with WashU offices through the Green Office Program.
