Imani Jones
Environmental Studies Impact Intern
Imani Jones is in her junior year at WashU, majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Interdisciplinary Environmental Analysis. She is currently the Vice-President for MARS (the Minority Association of Rising Scientists) at WashU. As an intern with Idleburg Consultants, she is working on bringing racial equity strategies to the Missouri Energy Efficiency for All coalition. In this internship she is learning a lot about energy efficiency, energy insecurity, and energy equity and justice within the context of affordable housing and the history of racist residential segregation policies. Imani is also learning about actionable solutions to these issues, and the importance of equitable community engagement within that problem-solving process!
Imani is originally from the south suburban area of Chicago.
Imani serves as the Racial Equity & Energy Intern with Idleburg Consultants.
