Energy and climate change are civil rights issues. This session seeks to further the NAACP’s Missouri Just Energies Policy objectives. Participants will continue to identify and work on action items to advance the NAACP minimum targets with regard to net metering, renewable portfolio, and energy efficiency standards along with local hire and disadvantaged business enterprise targets.
The meeting will build upon the initial roundtable held on October 11, 2017. At the initial roundtable, the group identified priorities which include:
- Revising municipal building codes to advance energy efficiency measures;
- Participating in Ameren’s Integrated Resource Plan Proceeding; and
- Advancing green energy legislation at the state level in 2018.
