Join us in Lab Sciences 300 for a free screening of Merchants of Doubt, a documentary based on the book by Naomi Oreskes. The movie examines how a small group of “silver-tongued pundits-for-hire” have created confusion around and doubt about scientific evidence of human-caused climate change. There will be free food provided, and the screening is open to the public!
The event will open with some brief information about climate-related Wash U courses and university projects that tackle climate issues to spread awareness about the Wash U Climate Change Initiative. Then, Dean Jen Smith will introduce the movie and discuss the role that universities have in pursuing scientific research and resisting manufactured doubt. The Facebook event can be found here.
