For Food Week 2017,  Environmental Studies will host Dr. Alison Alkon, Associate Professor, University of the Pacific, on Wednesday, October 18th, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Women’s Building Formal Lounge.
Professor Alkon’s talk is titled Food Justice: Growing a Movement, will provide an overview of the fields of food justice research and activism. It examines the ways that racial and economic inequalities pervade both conventional and alternative food and agricultural systems, as well as many of the strategies that community-based organizations are enacting to create social change.
We hope you will join us on October 18th. Alison’s lecture will begin at 5:00 pm, reception following, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm.
