ENST Design Lab: What is Landscape Architecture?

The

Environmental Studies Design Lab is a Sam Fox School initiative aimed at introducing Wash U Environmental Studies students to the power of environmental design. Landscape architecture students will conduct a 90-minute hands-on-design workshop for science majors who are interested in translating the outcomes from scientific research into transformative on-the-ground green infrastructure.

No experience necessary. Just an enthusiasm for harnessing dynamic natural systems and re-arranging them into high-performance, low-carbon environments.

This is an analogue event. Learn how to draw diagram, map and plan new urban systems using the age-old tools of pencils, paper, inkwash and aquarelles from senior graduate students in the Master of Landscape Architecture. Become familiar with the language of design, wash away those inhibitions, roll up your sleeves and design the future of urban life.
