Join the Office of Sustainability and Parking and Transportation Services in front of the Danforth University Center Thursday, October 5th from 11am-2pm for a free Bike Tune-up and Commuter Resource Fair!
As part of Active Transportation Month, the Commuter Resource Fair aims to support all WashU car-free commuters by offering many services and resources, such as:
- Free Bike Tune-Ups by 2 mechanics of our local bike shop partner Big Shark Bicycles, to keep your bike in tip top shape,
- Bike registration and discounted U-Lock through WUPD, to improve your bike’s safety,
- Discounted bike Helmets with Bears Bikes to improve your own safety,
- A real front-mounted bike rack equipped on all MetroBuses, available for demonstrations and training,
- Free gears for all committed car-free commuters (bells, lights and ankle reflectors) as well as maps and guides.
We are also happy to welcome representatives from Enterprise Car-Share who will be available to answer questions about their WashU programs and provide tips on how to best use their vehicles. An Enterprise car will be parked on site for hands-on demonstrations!
Bears Bikes, student-owned organization, will also join us to inform about their services and how you can get involved.
WashU’s own Alternative Transportation Coordinator will be available to provide free consultations for customized, multi-modal commuting plans.

*Due to limited slots for tune-ups, free tune-ups are available first-come, first-serve. Tune-ups cover basic maintenance only; bike owners may be referred to a bike shop if repair needs do not fit within the scope of the basic tune-up.
