Tyson Conservation Corps
Melissa, a junior from Downers Grove, IL, is majoring in Environmental Science and Secondary Education, with a minor in Political Science. She is passionate about science communication and K-12 education and plans to teach high school science following her graduation. As the Tyson Media and Communications intern, she will enhance Tyson's social media presence, aiming to engage not only the WashU community but also the broader St. Louis area in Tyson's initiatives. She is actively involved in multiple organizations on campus related to her interests, including the Washington University STEM Education Association, CampusY Science Olympiad, and Student Environmental Council. When not doing environmental or education work, you can find Melissa biking around Forest Park, playing the double bass in WashU's Symphony Orchestra, or giving campus tours through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions!
