Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

April and May are always busy times at the Office of Sustainability. Its also a great time for folks to get involved to help support outreach events and “green event” operations. Take a look at the opportunities below and sign up to offer your support.

St. Louis Earth Day Festival, April 23-24, 11a – 5p

The St. Louis Earth Day Festival is one of the oldest and largest in the nation, and has been an important community-led event since the 1980’s. There are usually around 30-40,000 people and about 100 booths hosted by St. Louis businesses, non-profits, and other interested parties. It takes place in our “neighborhood”, in Forest Park on the Muny Grounds. WashU will have a booth with some highlights of our sustainability programs and initiatives.

Moonlight Breakfast: Wednesday May 4, 8:45pm – 11:45pm (yes, this is a late night event!)
This event supports WashU students during finals as they get a late-night meal to fuel their late-night exam preparations. It’s a fun release during a stressful time. Our team of volunteers will be there to help with the waste sorting effort, making sure all those extra plates get composted!
