The spring Sustainability Action Team (SAT) meeting will take place on March 22 at 11:30a in the King Center of Becker Medical Library.
Jim Biggs will be the guest speaker for this meeting, which will center on greener cleaning methods. Jim is the manager of sustainability education programs for the EarthWays Center, which is the sustainability division of the Missouri Botanical Garden. A former environmental biology teacher, Jim has dedicated his career to educating the people of St. Louis about the products they purchase and their impact on health and the environment.
Jim will present information on how to make environmentally-friendly choices when purchasing household cleaners and deodorizers. Many of us carefully read the labels on the foods we purchase but are not aware of the potentially hazardous materials that our cleaning products contain. He will also share options for safely disposing of chemicals that you may already have at home.
