Environmental Justice

Kayla is a first-year majoring in Environmental Biology and minoring in Spanish. Her curiosity and love for exploration have fostered an admiration and respect for the primitive beauty of natural systems, which inspire her efforts to spread environmental mindfulness. She looks forward to engaging with the WashU community to actively spread awareness about environmental inequalities and the uneven distribution of our earth’s burdens and benefits, and developing a plan for students to gain consciousness of the intersection between the environment, social justice, and their own lives. Kayla is currently a student educator for VERDE, a member of Student Sustainability Board, and involved in campus ministry Harambe. She is also in the 2019 Emerging Leaders Program.
