Brian Gersten

Student Associate

Brian is a WashU Junior pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering with minors in International Business and Environmental Engineering. He is extremely passionate about sustainable textiles and fashion and is currently involved with the Fashion Fund, a Washington Ave. based incubator focused on revitalizing St. Louis’s Garment District. He has done research at WashU to help repurpose paper byproducts for biofuels. He is also member of the WashU Green Ambassador’s, which fosters an eco-conscientious student mentality on campus. As the Vice President of Social Justice for the Hillel at Washington University in St. Louis, Brian is overseeing interfaith efforts this year.

He is extremely excited to be a part of the Office of Sustainability team and hopes to apply his skills to further WashU’s excellency in sustainability!
