The International Center for Energy, Environment and Sustainability (InCEES) at Washington University in St. Louis is an institutional hub for collaborative efforts and interdisciplinary initiatives. Founded in 2007, InCEES catalyzes university- wide and external collaborative research and educational activities in the areas of energy, environment and sustainability. During the first decade of operations, InCEES developed a robust internal funding program, recruited faculty to the university through endowed professorships associated with the center, organized lectures and international workshops, helped develop new courses and provided experiential opportunities for students. Today, InCEES continues to foster an ecosystem that encourages and supports diverse research and educational activities conducted by the faculty and students at Washington University with their local, national and international partners. The ultimate goal is to provide improved solutions to a range of interconnected energy and environmental challenges that are critical to the well-being of society and the planet.
