WUSM’s Environmental Sustainability group, in collaboration with the Environmental Justice Initiative of LouHealth, is hosting a virtual talk on Environmental Justice on October 25th from 5:00-6:00pm.
We will be hearing from Dail Chambers, a visual artist, creative consultant, and environmental justice activist. Her visual art practice is a multimedia exploration in genealogy, women’s narratives, and social art. She has received numerous awards and fellowships throughout the United States. In addition to her artistic work, Dail Chambers also runs Coahoma Orchards, an urban orchard dedicated to the cross-cultural heritage of Native and African people. Located in the Jeff Vander Lou area, this orchard grows chokeberry, plums, and black cherries in addition to perennial herbs and flowers.
