Active Transportation Month is Here!

Every April, the Office of Sustainability and Parking & Transportation host Active Transportation Month (ATM) to motivate the WashU community to kick the car habit and try active, low-carbon means of transportation. The month is filled with events and activities designed to celebrate and take advantage of the many sustainable methods of transportation available.

Dozens of WashU staff members and students have already started participating in the Active Transportation Challenge, which offers the chance to form teams and track commutes in terms of miles logged, calories-burned, and CO2-saved using the website shiftyourcommute.com. Teams are awarded points based on miles logged and events attended. Prizes will include a Garmin fitness tracker, Urbanears headphones, and bike lights! One of the easiest ways to earn points is to submit a photo showcasing your commute. See photo contest rules here.
